With this bulletin, our organization is launching a formal space in which we can
celebrate significants events in our development with friends and visitors to our
web page. This space will be used to inform readers of our achievments which
characterize the ideals embodied in our slogan, "Research and Education for
Conservation." Our newsletter is divided by themes that reflect the activity at the
reserve. The contents of the bulletin will be updated every six months. In it, we
will incorporate personal accounts of our guests' experiences and items of news. If
you'd like to contribute, please contact us.

I am proud to say that many of the goals we set out to accomplish within the first five years of our development have been achieved. Their realization is a result of the combined talent and volition of many people; our board members, Millsaps College Board of Trustees, Millsaps Alumnae, Friends of Kiuic from both Mexico and the U.S., as well as the representatives of Mexico's INAH, SEMARNAT, CONAFOR and SECOL. Donations, funding of our proposals and the use of our Research and Learning Center have contributed to our development and helped to produce a truly international spirit in cultural and enviromental conservation in the Yucatan peninsula.

On behalf of our organization and its friends, we thank you for your interest in our projects. You can help us continue to meet our goals by reading the bulletin and telling others about what we are doing toward conservation in the state of Yucatan.
